March 5th Workshop

After properly feeding my artistic soul,I continued creating our next workshop project, an altered antique book back with vintage bottle. My daughter Hope and I teach various workshops at Refind Maison Jardin shop located in Powder Springs, Ga. We have a great group of ladies; kindered, creative spirits all, who come ready to roll up their sleeves and have a bunch of fun making cool stuff. Aka art! Here is this month's offering

Inspiration

They say the creative process is borne along on the wings of inspiration. Last week as I (Gerri) was designing a project for an upcoming workshop I felt like my wings of inspiration had suddenly been clipped. Thud! I was stuck; nothing worked right. It was time to walk away; take a break and feed the soul. Where does inspiration come from exactly? For me it's taking time to immerse myself in a favorite magazine or visit my favorite antique shop.

It can also come from the gentle comment of a friend, "that would be pretty if...", or simply the view from my kitchen window. Happily, the creative process has taken flight again. Who knows what may come of it?

" The love of beauty is taste, the creation of beauty is art. "
This was the phrase that first began Hopelessly Romantic Art Studio. In our love and pursuit for beauty we found the great pleasure that comes with creating art. Me (Hope) and my mother Gerri, decided to start this blog to celebrate, record, and promote this great adventure that we have embarked on to make a living creating what we love and bringing it to the world. We hope that you will all travel along with us, sharing in our ups and downs, joys and tribulations as we journal this incredible journey.
